Day 2: Divine Interruptions

Reading: Acts 8:26-29

Philip and the Ethiopian
26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” 27 So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian[a] eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake (which means “queen of the Ethiopians”). This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, 28 and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet. 29 The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.”

Devotional:
God sent an angel to redirect Philip from a thriving ministry in Samaria to a desert road. This wasn't convenient or logical—it was obedience. Philip didn't demand explanations; he simply went. The Holy Spirit then gave specific instructions: "Go to that chariot."
God's interruptions often feel inconvenient. We're comfortable, productive, seeing results—then God says "move." These divine redirections require us to trust that God sees what we cannot. He's already preparing encounters, conversations, and opportunities we know nothing about.
What "desert road" is God calling you toward? Is there a relationship, a conversation, or an act of obedience you've been avoiding? God doesn't always reveal the full picture upfront. He asks for the next step of faith. When you sense His leading—through Scripture, prayer, or circumstances—respond like Philip. Run toward obedience, trusting God's working ahead of you.
