Triumphal Entry - Misplaced Hope

Day 2: The Triumphal Entry—Misplaced Hope

Reading: John 12:12-19

Devotional:

The crowds welcomed Jesus as King, waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna!" They expected a political liberator who would overthrow Roman rule and restore Israel's glory. But Jesus came riding humbly on a donkey, not a war horse. He came to surrender His life, not seize political power.

We often do the same—we want Jesus to fix our circumstances, solve our problems, and make life comfortable. We want a Savior who serves our agenda rather than a Lord who transforms our hearts. But Jesus' kingdom is not of this world. He offers something far greater than temporary relief: salvation for our souls and eternal life in His presence.

Reflection Question: What am I hoping Jesus will do for me? Am I seeking His kingdom or my own comfort?
