Day 2: Rejoicing in Persecution

Reading: Matthew 5:11-12; James 1:2-4

"Count it all joy when you face trials." This seems counterintuitive, even impossible. Yet throughout Scripture and church history, we see a pattern: persecution refines faith and accelerates gospel growth. The early church didn't pray for comfort when threatened; they prayed for boldness. Trouble has a way of clarifying what matters most and driving us to complete dependence on God. In our weakness, we discover His strength. When things are easy, we rely on ourselves; when they're difficult, we turn to God—and that's when we see Him work miracles. The question isn't whether we'll face opposition, but how we'll respond when it comes. Will we retreat or request boldness?

What current difficulty might God be using to deepen your faith and dependence on Him?
