Community In The Waiting

Day 4: Community in the Waiting

Reading: Acts 1:15-26; Hebrews 10:24-25

Devotional:

The disciples didn't wait alone. One hundred twenty believers gathered together, united in worship and prayer. When Peter stood to address the need for a replacement apostle, he did so within community. They reasoned together, prayed together, and trusted God together. Isolation is one of the enemy's greatest weapons. When we face uncertainty alone, doubts multiply and fears overwhelm. But gathered together, we encourage one another, remind each other of God's faithfulness, and discern His voice more clearly. The early church understood something we've forgotten: we need each other. Don't neglect gathering with other believers. Join a small group. Show up on Sunday mornings. Participate in prayer meetings. Share your struggles and invite others to pray with you. When you're making important decisions, seek the wisdom of mature believers who will point you to Christ. God often speaks His direction through the counsel and prayers of His people.
