Day 1: Scattered But Not Silent

Reading: Acts 8:1-4

And Saul approved of their killing him.

The Church Persecuted and Scattered

On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for him. 3 But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.

Devotional:
The early church faced violent persecution that scattered believers from Jerusalem throughout Judea and Samaria. What appeared to be the church's destruction became God's strategy for expansion. The scattered believers didn't abandon their faith in fear; they preached the good news wherever they went. When life scatters our plans and disrupts our comfort, God is often repositioning us for greater kingdom impact. The believers weren't pastors or trained theologians—they were ordinary people with extraordinary testimonies.

Consider how God might be using your current circumstances, even difficult ones, to position you where someone needs to hear about Jesus. Your story of faith matters wherever you land.
