From Hosanna to Crucify - The Fickleness of Human Hearts

Day 3: From Hosanna to Crucify—The Fickleness of Human Hearts

Reading: Matthew 27:11-26

Devotional:

Within days, the same crowd that hailed Jesus as King demanded His crucifixion. Their hopes shattered when Jesus didn't meet their expectations, they turned violently against Him. This reveals the frightening fickleness of human hearts—including our own.

How easily are we persuaded to abandon Jesus when following Him becomes inconvenient? On Sunday we worship; by Monday we're living for ourselves. We claim He's Lord, then deny Him by how we live. We love when it's easy, give from our leftovers, and serve when convenient. True discipleship requires consistent surrender, not Sunday enthusiasm that fades by Wednesday.

Titus 1:16 warns: "Such people claim they know God, but they deny Him by the way they live."

Reflection Question: How consistent is my devotion to Jesus throughout the week, not just on Sunday?
