Wait Actively On The Lord

Day 5: Wait Actively on the Lord

Reading: Acts 1:4-8

Devotional:

After giving the Great Commission, Jesus told His disciples to wait. Not passive waiting—scrolling, binge-watching, killing time—but active waiting: praying, seeking God's voice, preparing their hearts for His leading. The most important spiritual discipline may be learning to wait on Jesus.

We're often so eager to act that we rush ahead of God's timing and miss His best. The disciples needed the Holy Spirit's power before embarking on their mission. So do we. Waiting isn't wasting time; it's positioning ourselves to hear God clearly and move when He directs.

Are you waiting on God for direction in some area? Use this time to deepen your prayer life, study Scripture, and tune your spiritual ears to recognize His voice. Don't just wait for something to happen—wait with Someone. Meet with Jesus daily, asking Him to prepare you for the mission He has uniquely designed for you. When He calls, you'll be ready to go.
