Miracles are called "signs" because they point beyond themselves to Jesus. The disciples didn't suddenly become superhuman; they simply became available channels for God's supernatural power. Notice that signs "accompanied those who believe"—they confirmed the gospel message being preached. Today, God still works miracles, but not as a spiritual trophy system where mature Christians collect supernatural abilities. Rather, He works signs when they serve His redemptive purpose—pointing others to Jesus. Your life itself can be a sign. The way you love difficult people, forgive those who hurt you, maintain joy in hardship, and trust God in uncertainty—these are miraculous signs in a broken world. They testify that Jesus is real and His power transforms lives. What sign is God working through your life today that points others to Him?
