Day 2: Grace, Peace, and the Trouble Between Them

Reading: Ephesians 1:2

2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Reading: John 16:33

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Devotional:
Paul's greeting of grace and peace was not a casual formality. He was writing to people living in a city saturated with idol worship, moral corruption, and spiritual opposition. Being set apart for God does not insulate you from hardship. If anything, it places you directly in the path of resistance. In John 16:33, Jesus acknowledged plainly that trouble is part of life in this world. But he followed that acknowledgment with a declaration of his own victory. Grace is God's unearned favor meeting you in the middle of your struggle. Peace is his settled presence anchoring you there. You need both, and he offers both freely.
Thanking God today for the Grace and Peace only He can give. When you experience it, you can’t deny it’s Him :)
