Day 2: Community Over Charity

Reading: Acts 2:42-47

The early church didn't establish a charity program—they formed a family. Believers shared meals, possessions, and lives with "great joy and generosity." This wasn't obligation; it was devotion. They understood that meeting physical needs was important, but inviting people into transformative community was essential.
We live in a world of isolated individuals and transactional relationships. God's design is radically different. True help happens when we know each other's stories, walk through struggles together, and bear one another's burdens. A handout might meet today's need, but community transforms lives. The church isn't meant to be a distribution center but a family where everyone belongs and everyone contributes.
Are you merely attending church, or are you invested in community?

Who in your church community do you need to know better, and how can you take a step toward deeper connection this week?
