Jesus or Jesus Plus?
Day 2: Jesus or Jesus Plus?
Reading: Matthew 6:24-34
Devotional: We cannot serve two masters. Yet how often do we try to follow "Jesus plus"—Jesus plus my career, Jesus plus my comfort, Jesus plus my plans? Satan doesn't tempt us with obviously evil things; he distracts us with good things that aren't God's things. Caring for family is good. Building a career is good. But when these good things take priority over following Jesus, they become idols. Jesus calls us to "seek first the kingdom of God," promising that when we prioritize Him, He'll provide everything we need. Today, identify what comes after "Jesus, I love you, but..." in your life. That "but" reveals what you're trusting more than God. Surrender it. Trust that God's way of caring for your loved ones and your future is infinitely better than your own.
